7 Weeks to go

Training has been upped a few levels this past 10 days

Training twice a day every other day and building leg strenght and general cardio fitness to get myself in some sort of shape for this challenge

Completed a spin class last night and plan to do three a week to build up cardio and leg power

If I were to attempt it today I would fail miserably

Looking forward to another 12k run on saturday around Hampstead heath, great scenery and a few steep hills make it a good challenge

Spinning

Free 3 Peaks Training Programme @ http://www.tonymjhughes.com/?page_id=50

Training today in Swiss Cottage leisure centre and done a spin class!

That’s the first spin class i have done in maybe two years and i know the pain ain’t going to hit until tomorrow morning.

Interestingly enough i have taking part in spin classes in a few different cities over the years, Armagh, Belfast, Dublin, Cork, Liverpool and London to name but a few. What i can say people who go to these classes fall into three categories and it doesn’t matter were in the world you take part in these classes you will find these people in the spin studio!!!

Group 1 – beginners and those who go once in a blue moon, you can spot these people about 10 minutes into the class becasue you can hear there sweat drop onto the floor and their faces can be anything from mild red to beetroot purple by the end of the class (i was a shade of dark red today)

Group 2 – Professionals – There is always one or two who think they are Lance Armstrong!!! Dressed in cycling gear, cycling shoes and gloves, FFS your doing a spin class in the basement of a gym no called for the yellow jersey. And Finally

Group 3 – Addicts – Yes there is always a few people in every gym who live for the spin classes, they are 15 mins early and know all he instructors by the first name and are always talking / mouthing through the whole session. Furthermore these spin junkies don’t even follow the instructor, they have there own agenda whether its beating there mileage from the previous session or trying to out perform everyone in the class to show them whose boss in the spin class
